Nico Oh, come on now. This America that I know is NOTHING to the one I was brought up in. Back then we knew what was right or wrong. It was linked to good common sense. In this present culture, IT IS ALL GONE!!! Wihiit! Wheez Bang Gone! And if anyone was a lost rascal idiot back then, it was me. And thru all that experience I learned one big thing: if it wasn't for the goodness and mercy of God, I would have been evaporated long ago thru befallen circumstances and situations unbeknownst to me. There's stuff in me TODAY, that are insidious and immoral, looking for ways out. So what do I do? Give free rein to every stupid impulse of immoral decadence under some political banner and call it FREEDOM? Who is anyone kidding?

Why, it's simple. Just because you have the legal right to do something, doesn't mean you do it! I think that's what America has forgotten. Email: ordinis@gmail.com

______________ NICO Gee, Nico, is this what you mean...? I have a legal right to murder. Doesn't mean I do it. I have a legal right to kidnap my neighbor. Doesn't mean I do it. I have a legal right to drive while drunk. Doesn't mean I do it. I have a legal right to jump off any building as a suicide. Doesn't mean I do it. I have a legal right to steal from any business with stores occupying major downtown streets. Doesn't mean I do it. I have a legal right to break into my neighbor's house anytime I want. Doesn't mean I do it. or, how about... I have a legal right to marry as many spouses as I want at the same time. Doesn't mean I do it. I have a legal right to be married to as many spouses as I want at the same time. Doesn't mean I do it. I have a legal right to form clubs and organizations with people who love the same interests, like overthrowing the government. Doesn't mean I do it. How about those for starters? This message has been edited. Last edited by: Nard Kordell,

Who are the real haters? Who the truly intolerant? Who the truly selfish? I'll reiterate a post from 2 pages back: Ironic, isn't it, that Obama supporters can sport signs in their yards and bumper stickers on their cars without a second thought, while those who do the same but supporting McCain risk vandalism or worse from those oh-so tolerant and enlightened liberals! ...and another from next door: What a shame there even has to be a prop. 8. California voters have already voted on this issue, only to have 4 adjudicators (not legislators) overrule the will of the majority.

Hey Phil, No offense, but it sounds like you have a lot bottled up in there, and you may need your belief system to contain it all. Some of US do just fine using our minds and our hearts and stay open to each others needs, living as though we were each walking in the shoes of the other. That seems to work pretty well. BTY, who was denying God? I think the problem was with the absoluteness of the so-called Word of God, captured in a book that is known to be not what it is often presented as. Lighten up friend, I will state here my fundamental, no pun in tended, problem with literal interpretations of the Bible by Christians: they believe that not accepting their beliefs means that I, as a non-believer, am doomed to Hell and damnation. That ends the conversation with me. Absoluteness on any thing is usually incorrect. Just think back, any time you thought that you were absolutely right about something, likely later you found that not to be true. Life is not an absolute process. There is chaos in the universe and Man is given the opportunity to study and learn and make choices, some of which may have to be altered with new information. Again Phil, lighten up. No one hates you. Hate comes into this discussion when your beliefs are imposed on another in the form of a law that has as its sole purpose to set apart one group of people from your group of people, giving your group a sanction to discriminate based on the Word of God from a book. I can't stand by and let that happen when I feel it is not fair to all involved. If I had been born with a slightly altered hormonal bath in my mother's uterus while I was growing to become a baby, I might have been gay, and had no choice in the matter. Why should that preclude me from beening happy with another of my choice and joining in a Civil merging called Marriage by the courts?

No, this is the Politic Alley thread. If you want to ask folks about God, then you'll have to go over to the Orange Crop thread. Over here you can only hate politicians. "Live Forever!"

Well, in ten days I hope the country, which I dearly love, and would give my life for in a just cause, will get back to the center, where most of us live and play, and away from the path of the Religious Wrong, who highjacked the country for the last eight years. Their misplaced passion has got us into the worst mess we have been in since the Great Depression, and two wars, one of which was entirely initiated through lies and deception of the American people. This depression, not yet so recognized, may yet turn out BE The Greatest Depression, of the 21st Century. Our citizens will, I hope, take back control of their country and allow the members of the Religious Wrong to go back to just being good Christians, and letting those, with better judgement and a sense of fairness for all, by leaving religion out of government, administer the Constitution for all of our citizens, of whatever faith. I hope that is God's will.

The parents organized it. Only kids whose parents permitted were allowed to go. Bestiality and pedophilia is abuse - animals and children cannot consent. Being gay hurts no one. "Live Forever!"

Doug Spaulding. Being gay is not the problem. Acting on being gay is the problem. God gives crosses to bear for all sorts. A person bent on being sexually permissive learns how to control those desires, thru the Holy Spirit. A battle all the way. Those who lean genetically to some other sin, be it drunkenness or pornography, learn, thru the ongoing power of Christ, to put distance between their behavior and their acting out. Eventually to be free, all replaced by the character of Christ. The reason why we have the Ten Commandments, is because we learn that breaking any one of them we it hurts yourself and your fellow man and God.

Thank you for your thoughtful response. Two points: Trying to force your body & mind to go against its nature is very damaging to your psyche. Also, Yeshua never said one word against homosexuality. "Live Forever!"
