Any actual former slaves who are still alive? Sure, give them money, not like that would truly compensate. But holding grudges and debts based on what some people's ancestors did to some other people's ancestors? Get a life!

I agree groon. I think this is one of the few things we agree on.

groon,
ever hear of "starting on the same line" concept? It's got to do with being fair. If there are many poor black families in the US, as there are, maybe it's because they started slighlty handicapped when compared to the white folks? Money could rectify some of the disadvantages. Argue against that.

Cheers, Translator

What about the poor white families? There are quite a number of them, as well.
Why don't we just drop the subject and agree to disagree?

Translator, let me ask you this then how long are you going to give a race of people to get their act together.

black kids go to the exact same school as I do. they have the exact same oportunites as I do, they have the chance to be successful and smart and graduate high school but they dont. why?? because they CHOOSE not to. they choose to sell drugs they choose to shoot each other.

slavery has been abolished for quite some time. white people are actually descriminated against with "affirmative blacktion" or action whichever you perfer, they get a boost on the college entrance exam test scores just because of their race. how is that fair. lifes not fair. and my tax money shouldnt go to these people just because they are black, and their ancestors were slaves.

I ask again tell me why they should be givin my hard earned money just because of their race.

you have yet to give me any reason that could be considerd insightful. unless you call socialist redistibution of wealth good.

The sad thing here is that el stevieboy and those of us who agree with him will be labeled as racist when that is not true. El Stevieboy is perfectly correct. I hate when I hear that there is no opportunity out there for blacks or inner city people. They have the same opportunity as all of us.

Then Bill Cosby is a racist. Have you read his recent remarks?

I applaud Bill cosby for what he said. telling the black males to step up and be good fathers to their kids and to quit sellin drugs and to make it through school. bill understand that blacks arnt descriminated against. It really was eye opening for them to see a member of their own race stand up and say those things but hey someone had to tell the truth.

I guess translator missed arnold speaking at the republican convention last night. was that an awesome speech or what??

arnold talked about immigrating here and he talked about the democrats sounding just like the socialism he tried so hard to get away from. he hated socialism. thats why hes a republican. this coming from someone who lived in socialism. It made me so proud to be an American and a member of the GOP.

Arnold was very inspiring, and as far as Cosby goes, he told the truth. No, that does not make him racist, but he will be labeled as such by some.
