Since this thread is just a jumble of thoughts, I just wanted to confess that I'm *still* jealous of my teenager for getting to meet Ray Bradbury. It was nice, however, that my son shared that he reads and rereads my old dog-eared copy of "Dinosaur Tales", a book I bought for myself almost nearly 25 years ago (and sometimes read for nostalgic pleasure).

I'm happy my son had such a pleasant interaction; Mr. Bradbury was apparently very approachable. And if it were between me and my son, I'm happier that he got to, because I want him to chase down challenging reading material. Meeting one of the legends is something he might not appreciate now, but in 10 years, he will realize exactly how special it was.

Okay, I'm done threadjacking. Smiler

It makes them appear more "human" somehow.

Not at all - I use it myself! I'm just pretentious that way.

This link will bring you to a sound clip from a KPCC radio clip honoring water being discovered on MARS. This is John Rabe on his program Off-Ramp.

Cool carving there, John!

Say, Biplane, I noticed a post of yours on the "turntable" thread, and I wanted to ask you here (in the "miscellany" thread) are you plagued with "love bugs" right now? Florida's supposed to get them in May.

We'll be seeing lots of creatures here soon with the same soubriquet, but a different species:
