God is working on this along with countless other things!

I'm going to start compiling a list of people who have specifically designated Ray Bradbury on their prayer list. The latest is actress Rhonda Fleming, who came to faith in Jesus Christ a number of years ago and has been out speaking to many churches and Christian women's groups. She is about Ray's age and a favorite movie starlet in the 1940's/50's. She said she put Ray on her prayer list and will, with others, be praying for him to come to know Jesus Christ personally.

Thanks! Good stuff. Belated St. Valentine's day to everyone.
|
Not to confuse, but the visit by Rick Warren was nearly a year ago. Interesting to note that 'Saint Valentine's Day' or anything related to it is banned in most Muslim countries, including Saudi- Arabia because it is considered a significant Christian holiday. (Maybe not by the US popular culture set, tho. Ha!)

Hey Nard: I too, hope you change your mind about this being your last posting, and rejoin the discussions. Your personal relationship with Ray will always bring fresh perspectives; and someone's gotta keep the whippersnappers honest! This place would not be the same without you. Mr. Dark

Mr. Dark! Running out of things brand-new to say. Blabbering along here with mundane comments? Probably. I am seriously figuring writing my life-long take on Ray Bradbury, which may... or may not be published in some other form.

Well, one man's blabbering is another man's interesting reading. Maybe you could do a personal memoir about your history with the man--discussions, common areas of interest, events you've been to together, etc. I think it would be interesting reading! By the way, I agree with an earlier sentiment you expressed about some political and anti-christian postings being both off-topic and annoying. I succumbed to some questionable (topic-wise) postings myself and contributed to this. I have apologized (I think!), and try to avoid responding to posts that attack my beliefs and that promote a political agenda--though I confess it is hard. We need to be on Bradbury and related topics--not rantings on politics and religion. As these are tied to Bradbury's views--on topic; but when we begin to disparage the personal views of others--off topic. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Mr. Dark,

That gives insight into where Bradbury's trust is not based. He often says in his talks that the universe is a mystery, and that we are all gods. Far from the Baptist beliefs he held as a child. ...And so this request for prayer for Ray, from the pivotal point of our helplessness to do anything but ask Our Father to intervene and use what instruments He deems the best to win the heart of Ray. . . .

Thanks, Nard. A blessed Easter to you & yours! We Orthodox will have our Pascha the following Sunday. Note: these will be the same day the next 2 years!

So...I'm an atheist. haha, I know that's nothing to be laughing about, and to be completely serious, I would pray my heart out to send Mr.Bradbury up to the big puffy clouds, but as i know that does no good. (For me that is, You good people keep on praying) I would just wish that Mr. Bradbury be reunited with all of his old friends and loved ones. Maybe he'll finally reunite with Mr. Electrico and his beloved Wife on the other side? I certainly hope so. Remember my friends, "Live Forever", is not only the words that were said to Ray Bradbury, but is also what God hoped his follower's faith would so rightously do..."Live Forever" - Kukai Aoki P.S. "Oh, death!"

Prayer for Ray is the best defense. Of course, our prayer is useless unless God intervenes with His Spirit.

Maybe you can explain how Forrest J. Ackerman could be an atheist who professed not to believe in an afterlife for himself but apparently did for other people.
