I think Barack Obama is downright scary!

Scary because he's such a smooth talker!

A smooth talker with no biblical respect for unborn life. Think about it!! When scripture says that God knew you before he formed you in your mother's womb and planned for you a wonderful life, is it not beyond-dangerous for a person to thwart God's plan, or approve of a plan, ending unborn life? Furthermore, then saying that you are a Christian and believe the bible?

Well, I know so-called Christians say and do this, but do we need a leader of the country that does the same? Where is that higher calling that Obama talks so much about? Hey, it DOES NOT exist with him, especially in this area.

Something is wrong here, and it seems more and more people are getting respect (from the same people who have no respect for the unborn), and it's translating into this seemingly general acceptance of the man, which, of course, ushers in more general acceptance since people like to ride the wave of popularity. I say there just has to be people who know better. And there are. Unfortunately, is this what we got today, two prominent candidates, neither of whom we are crazy about?

I agree about abortion - I'm extremely conservative on that issue (believe it or not). I've even marched in anti-abortion demonstrations!

What I find interesting is that the law regards when life begins as opinion; yet there are two cases in the news right now, each involving a man accused of killing a pregnant woman and so being tried for double homicide!

All I can say about this is: Put your adoption where your beliefs are. Act, do not preach or concern yourself with the actions of others in their choices. I will respect anyone who volunteers to take the unwanted children of this world and welcome them into their homes, sight unseen. No fair shopping, just take the next one that is unwanted, you know that God wants you to do this, so act on it. Meanwhile, those who continue to concern yourself with the affairs of others, without taking such action, I say shame on you, for you preach not what you practice, and therefore your message is hollow and destructive. The old addage is: Action Speaks louder that words.

Lots of us are spending much of our lives dealing with "the actions of others and their choices" which amounts to paying for the irresponsibility of others; whether by adopting their children, working for or donating to charities, or simply working our butts off so they can get their government check and so afford their 'medical' marijuana.

I'm not talking about consequences of behaviour. I'm talking about how the current law views life.

The White House has predicted that President George W. Bush would leave a record $482 billion deficit to his successor, a sobering turnabout in the U.S. fiscal condition from 2001, when Bush took office after three consecutive years of budget surpluses.

The worst may be yet to come. The deficit announced by Jim Nussle, the White House budget director, on Monday does not reflect the full cost of military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, the potential $50 billion cost of another economic stimulus package, or the possibility of steeper losses in tax revenues if individual income or corporate profits decline.

The deficit numbers also do not account for any drains on the Treasury that might result from further declines in the housing market.

The White House forecast was prepared before the passage of the huge housing assistance package that Bush has promised to sign. That legislation would put taxpayer money at risk in numerous ways, especially if housing prices continue to decline.

Nussle predicted that the deficit would more than double in the current 2008 fiscal year - to $389 billion, from $162 billion in 2007 - before shooting up to $482 billion in the 2009 fiscal year, which begins in about two months.
