Have y'all seen this? If it makes me look like a hick- well, I probably am, but it sure reminds me of Ray's "Talking Walls" in F451. http://youtube.com/watch?v=-9j_tYP-kzc
randomyork: Incredible! This is a bit farther than Ray's talking walls. Say, one light-year at least? Unless you were highly involved with its inception 20 plus years ago, it would have been all 'crazy-talk' back then. Make that 3 years ago, perhaps! Last year? Right before I saw the youtube video?
It actually reminds me of the old Pac-man video game tables where a person would sit on either side. Remember those? Am I dating myself?!
LordShen, if I answered your closing questions, would I be doing the same? http://images.tabulas.com/24271/m/pacman.png To think this was "high-tech!"
Resemblance stops at the table top design. The rest is pure magic to the late 70's, early 1980s'. The first table top game, of course, was PONG. Here...play PAC-MAN nonethless... on your 'late 70's early 80's magic-machine-back then'...your present computer. ~others are here as well...~ http://www.webpacman.com/

Wow, this is just too cool for words---we're living in the future! (Heh, heh---reminds me of that classic quote "We are all interested in the future, for that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives. And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future...") I'm not sure that the average person will want to do much computing while bent over a tabletop, however...

theoctobercountry Such a techno marvel as this table top will quickly find its way into the graphics business. This is going to be a must buy item for busy printing companies. Photographers as well. You heard the first buyers will be the casinos. Applications to counter tops in kitchens, for instance. If you have guys being paid $30+. an hr. at the print shop playing scanner tricks and uploads on photo for magazines and brochures...this'll punch the time waaaay down for job inception to finished piece... At least all this in the immediate future... And then...?

Criswell! I love Plan 9. Did you know that he was no fake, either? Many of his predictions came true, including JFK's assassination and Reagan's election as governor. "Live Forever!"
Really? I wasn't aware that any of Criswell's predictions ever came true!
I heard somewhere, or maybe I read it...that Doug Spaulding has a small statue of Criswell on his desk, surrounding by incense and candles. I may be wrong.
I do not! It's an Ed Wood statue (really more of a statuette). "Live Forever!"
I am amazed every time I flip a switch and a light in the room comes on. I am utterly dumfounded by surface computing. How is anyone even smart enough to do that? ~I put the sweater on and watched the waves come up and fall down on the beach...Even a drunken man could not collapse with the elegance of those waves. ("The Lake," RB)

There was Ray's poem of hiding a note in an abandoned bird nest and finding it years later. It read "... I remember you!" Then there was the short story where you read the words, "Barton....calling Barton!" And then there is this: http://www.futureme.org ___________________________________________
