“A Mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will She cling to us, and endeavor by Her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.”
- Washington Irving

Legendary B-movie director Roger Corman has died at age 98. Mr. Corman provided early breaks for some of the most talented directors and actors in film, including Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, Ron Howard, Jack Nicholson and Robert De Niro, receiving an honorary Oscar for lifetime achievement in 2009. He also directed THE INTRUDER, a film previously mentioned on this Board, which was based on the novel by close Ray Bradbury friend Charles Beaumont and which was William Shatner’s first film. (The INTRUDER cast also included writers William F. Nolan, George Clayton Johnson, and Mr. Beaumont himself.)

"Lest We Forget!"

https://evanskaren.wordpress.com/

We visited Normandy Beach and nearby villages many years ago. The greetings we received from men and women whom we met in small markets, cafes, and along the routes as we viewed these historic locales were truly humbling. The people of the region were gracious and still expressed sincere appreciation for what young Americans had sacrifice ~ now 80 Years ago!!

Terrible news for the Bradbury community. Donn Albright has passed away. He had the most extensive Bradbury collection and comprehensive list of Ray's work, and is responsible for recovering much work which would have been lost.

Mr. Bob Newhart ~ a classic American Humorist, who entertained my parents, myself, and our sons. "Thank you" for true humor, the likes of which, unfortunately, we do not hear from today's performers.
PEACE!
