I recently discovered that I placed in the top ten of the New Century Writers Awards Short Story Contest, sponsored by Ray Bradbury. I have yet to be contacted by New Century, and my emails, faxes, and phone calls have all been ignored. Furthermore, I contacted other top ten winners and they have likewise been ignored. I had assumed that this was a respectable contest since Bradbury's name was attached. I noticed that New Century is accepting entries (money)for new contests, without settling with their old winners. Has anyone else dealt with New Century?

Who would have authorize RB's name in the first place?!

Strange, but the link is 'H'erbicide, for 'V'erbicide, as in Verbicide Magazine. But it says it IS 'Scissor Press', the place affiliated with New Century Writers.
Hmm ! It may be...that everyone is overwhelmed with a general backlog....
