Good thinking, Butch!
And, Biplane, any W.C.Fields fan knows the word "proboscis"! Just one of his quotes as Egbert Sousé: "The jockey was a very insulting fellow. He referred to my proboscis as an adscititious excrescence. I had to tweak his nose."
Yes, indeed.

Hey, Sundance! Is that "SousEE" or "SousAE"

Snuffy Smith would have to be considered if there was a competition for persons possessing a proboscis of prodigious proportions - http://www.toonopedia.com/snuffy.htm

(How did Ol' Snuffy maneuver that mule along those jagged edged mountain trails for all those years without tumblin' down?)

Fields, of course, was playing with the word "souse". In "The Bank Dick" as Ebert Sousé,
someone pronounces his name as "souse", and he corrects them saying, "that's Sousé (soo-zay), accent grave over the 'e'."
(Though, if I'm right, he should've said accute accent..)

Mr. Fields, of course, was a master juggler like yourself! It's all in the circuitry, right?!

"Go away, kid! Ya bother me!"

Thanks B-Two, that was good about Iron Eyes Cody.

She stood silently looking out into the great sallow distances of sea bottom, as if recalling something, her yellow eyes soft and moist...

A related Mr. Electrico exchangee (#333, Nov 21, '04) exists here. http://www.circushistory.org/Query/Query05a.htm

This site also has countless photos and articles related to that long ago era of illustrated men and dark carnivals arriving late at night.
