Anyone know anything about a 20-minute film of Zero Hour from 1978? I've posted what little information I have on the films page of my website, but I'd like to know more from anyone who may have seen it: http://home.wlv.ac.uk/~in5379 - Phil

Saw it years ago. The paper announced that the film was to be run at the library in the next town at a certain time and I drove there special. I think me and three or four other people showed up. I remember the person playing Mink's mother as really cool, beautiful and poised, while the girl playing Mink was kinda chubby and dorky. They didn't seem related at all. It seemed the film was pretty close to the story. I most recall the ending, which was almost exactly as written in the story.

The link below will take you to ZERO HOUR, the short (20 minutes) 1978 film made Ray Bradbury's classic story. It was produced by Bernard Wilets and directed by Darlene Chaffee: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5ReMiQFzVc&t=99s

I just saw it again on YouTube. For some reason the actors are uncredited and the film is not listed on Internet Movie Database.

I'd like to see this film added to Internet Movie Database. Another Bradbury story film by the same director is listed: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1...0_in_0_q_the%20veldt. Trouble is, they want all kinds of criteria such as was it publicly released or discussed and was it shown at a film festival, etc., and there is almost no information on Zero Hour. I could tell them it was screened at a public library years ago but I wouldn't have the date. Here is the AI overview: Zero Hour (1978) is a short film adaptation of Ray Bradbury's, produced by Barr Films. The film depicts children, led by a young girl named Mink, engaging in a mysterious game called "Invasion" to help an alien named Drill invade Earth. Key Details of the 1978 Film: Source Material: Based on the short story published in Bradbury's collection, The Illustrated Man. Plot: Young children across the city help an alien named Drill invade Earth, as adults are oblivious to the danger, dismissing the "Invasion" game until it is too late. Themes: Loss of innocence, generational alienation, and the fear of a technologically advanced threat. Director: The film was directed by Bernard Wilets. This 1978 adaptation was commonly shown in school settings to explore Bradbury's story and themes of suspense and science fiction.
