That's a big ring. I imagine the other one - with a T. Rex in it - is even bigger.

This sounds like a fun book: OLD MARS, an anthology of all-new short stories set on the all-old planet Mars, edited by George R.R. Martin and Gardner Dozois. We are promised canals and echoes of Burroughs and Bradbury. (On Facebook, Melinda Snodgrass has said that she wrote the Bradburyesque story in the volume.) Contributors include Michael Moorcock. http://www.randomhouse.com/book/220499/old-mars-

According to editor George R. R. Martin, the follow-up volume, OLD VENUS, is even more fun. He has already set forth the table of contents, here: http://grrm.livejournal.com/329989.htmlBoth books are still forthcoming, of course. If there's an echo of "The Long Rain" or "All Summer in a Day" somewhere in OLD Venus, we shouldn't be too surprised.
