I read a short story in my 7th grade English class (so, more than ten years ago) and I'm trying to track down the title and author. I am fairly certain it was Bradbury, but not positive. The story is about a family that gets new next-door neighbors who seem a little off. The family tries to befriend them, but the new neighbors seem reluctant to join them in any activities. Finally, they convince them to go to an amusement park one day, and the neighbors get very nervous as the sky begins to fill with clouds. They insist on rushing home, and are running in the door when it begins to rain. The family melts - turns out they were made of sugar. (These are my recollections of the story, some dozen years later...) Does anyone recall if this is actually a Bradbury story, and if so, what the title is? Thank you!

Sounds like a sweet story... Not Bradbury, though. Someone on this site will help you though - even if it's raining...

It sounds like your mother wrote this story when she was pregnant with you. Having the sadistic, canibalistic hunger to devour people can only be the way of YOUR KIND. LONG LIVE RAY! I love Ray, and I don't mean Charles ... duh!

Prolific little insect, isn’t it?

WHY is Asimov's "Rain, Rain, Go Away" constantly mistaken as being by Bradbury? This is the FOURTH TIME, which must put it up there with Vonnegut's "Harrison Bergeron" and Asimov's "Nightfall." Here are the previous three, with dates: May 2003: https://raybradburyboard.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/6891083901/m/4001027901/p/1 April 2005: https://raybradburyboard.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/6891...191069911#4191069911 July 2005 https://raybradburyboard.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/6891...091049831#9091049831
