Oh, now you've reminded me of N'Awlins. The memory is bittersweet. "Live Forever!"

I have never been and I do have a week off in Jan. I think I am either going to Chicago or New Orleans. If I do Chi town, will have to visit The Ravine among other noreworthy spots. She stood silently looking out into the great sallow distances of sea bottom, as if recalling something, her yellow eyes soft and moist... rocketsummer@insightbb.com

I can't say anything bad about Chicago, but you can't do better than New Orleans (especially if you're talking January!). The food and the music is the best in the country, and good food and good music are two of the most important top five things of ever! The Garden District, The French Quarter, live music coming thru the open doors of the blues clubs on Bourbon Street, fresh, warm beignets at Cafe Du Monde washed down with a cafe au lait as only they can do them, crawfish on your breakfast eggs, fried alligator bits and beer at seedy bars, the ghost tours (the most haunted city in America, you know), the voodoo shops, the dark alleys haunted by the ghost of Jean Lafitte, the best Hurricanes in the world, red beans and rice and a carafe of cheap rosé at a hole-in-the-wall joint down on the riverfront, and the most important item, which shall remain nameless for now. Oh this is sure stirring up some ghosts for me. Which reminds me...meet me in the "What a Lyric" thread. "Live Forever!"

Doug, you may have just decided my trip for me, although Chicago is much closer to Ky. She stood silently looking out into the great sallow distances of sea bottom, as if recalling something, her yellow eyes soft and moist... rocketsummer@insightbb.com

Just finished a great novela from the new Ash Tree Press collection by Paul Finch called Ghost Realm (if you like historical detail or more traditional ghost stories like M.R. James then I'd highly recommend this book to you) Phil __________________________ SUPPORT SMALL PRESS BOOKSTORES UNITED

Hi! I'm new here! I'm currently reading Fahrenheit 451. Before this, I finished R is for Rocket. I just picked up Ray's books for the first time in 2008. I never even ready any in high school (ahem 20 reunion coming up). Anyway, over the past year, I've read: Something Wicked This Way Comes (and watched the Disney movie) The Martian Chronicles R is for Rocket and parts of the following: October Country The Illustrated Man The Toynbee Convector and picked up The Ray Bradbury Theater on DVD. So, yeah, you could say I've become a fan. Favorite stories so far: Something Wicked, The Exiles & Frost and Fire. I wanted to not like Uncle Einar because it's in at least 3 of the short story collections that I have, but I really, really loved it. Anyway, I still have lots of Ray to read, and look forward to chatting it up here.
