I was reading the December, 2004 issue of LOCUS magazine this evening and noticed, in the forthcoming books section, that a new collection of Ray's essays is scheduled to be published by Morrow in August, 2005: BRADBURY SPEAKS: TOO SOON FROM THE CAVE, TOO FAR FROM THE STARS. Something to look forward to next year, along with Sam Weller's much anticipated biography!

Isn't Bradbury's DOG WITH A RED BANDANA coming out this year, also? (More short stories, I think.)

Be sure to click on the titles Richard has mentioned in the site: (above)
Some background on the editions as well as pics of Mr. B, family and friends. Interesting Anecdote on "The Wish!"

When I last spoke with Ray a couple of weeks ago he said that had three books coming out next year. How many 84 year old authors can say that?

I have noticed that Ray is wearing his hair so much more shorter than he used to. I have been catching up with the Ray Bradbury Theatre series on DVD and noticed how thick his hair was then. Or is it perhaps that it is thinning out due to his getting older. I know mine is thnning and I am only 60!

Has anyone else noticed this?

I attended a performance of "Hair" in London in 1969, but the word has taken on a whole new meaning for me at age 62. Maybe we need a new musical called "Wig" for the people in our age group!

Speaking of hair and age;
sometimes when asked how old I am, I reply
that I'm old enough to remember when there
was such a thing as a bad haircut!!

When Ray saw this photo the first thing he did was say, "Gawds. I gotta get a haircut!" http://www.catchaway.com/Pictures/actions/image_resized_view.php?imgid=36&nw=618&nh=580&fullsize=1
