When I was 14 or 15 back in 1972 or 1973, the poem, "Remember Me" was published in Better Homes and Gardens. It is a beautiful poem about an older man remembering his youth through a note tucked away in a tree. I loved that poem so much that I tucked it away in a book. Thirty plus years and 8 moves have gone by since I tucked that poem away. I found it yesterday and I remember the young girl who hid it. Thanks, Ray for all the wonderful stories and now the memories.

Agreed!

The 1st time I read this poem was on the train from CA back to NY after meeting Mr. B. He had signed the copy on his bd. I have joyfully presented the poem in classes on many occasions since.

While the link below does not deal with Ray Bradbury's wonderful poem "Remembrance" (see fjp451's posting above for a link to that poem), I thought it would be appropriate to put it under this topic since it discusses bookseller Charles Roberts' memories of Ray Bradbury. (Mr. Roberts is the owner of Wonder Books in Maryland):

One of my all time favorite poems, I used to read it to my mom's students when I would visit her 4th/5th combo class once a year to do what she started calling "manly poetry." Carroll's "Jabberwocky" and Tennyson's "Charge Of The Light Brigade" were always in the lineup too, but this one somehow felt the most edgy and real, at least for me. I'd climb up on her desk as the old man climbing the tree. I don't think I can read it aloud now without weeping profusely. Truly Ray at his finest!

groon, I couldn't agree with you more about Ray's poem "Remembrance", which never fails to move me. It is one of my two favorite poems by Ray. The other is "Imagine", which was used in 1982 as the Christmas poem Ray mailed to his friends. It was also later printed as a limited edition broadside, signed by Ray and illustrated by Joe Mugnaini. Like "Remembrance", "Imagine" has always touched me deeply.
