I have been working on a project from many years, a rather lengthy composition that already has most of its vital elements completed. The task at hand is to put the parts into one satisfying and working unit. Although the majority of the discourse is in written form, the total work continues to stroll about in my head. I have always appreciated Mr. Bradbury's Zen in the Art of Writing. So after reviewing the above link, I made a written note of the quotes offered by several of the authors referenced, most of whom I have read and taught. The copy of their sound advice will remain nearby when it is time to tap away daily, as well as this ironic - but sound - final truth from Mr. B., "I’ve had a sign over my typewriter for over 25 years now: Don’t think!" | ||||
