I recently passed through the town of Winesburg and, recalling the introduction to a recent edition of the M. Chronicles, thought of Ray. I knew as a boy that humanity's future depended upon a balance of visionary seeking and cautionary warning; seeking our potential while reminding ourselves of The Worst We Might Do. No author has done so much to both midwife, and prevent, the future. Thank you.

Brian Pelfrey: Wonder if we're distant relatives--my surname being palfreyman. The structure of Winesburg, Oh is similar to Hemingway's "In Our Time" and Bradbury's "Martian Chronicles" and "Illustrated Man'. All of them excellent reading.
