Okay, this is a fiction that I did, cause I feel that this is a good genre for me. Horror? A. Lewis Essays on Lycanthrope The legend of the werewolf dates back to ancient Greece. In Homers Odyssey , the sorceress Circe, made the men drink from her cauldron, and afterwards the became swine. Plato and Pliny the Elder referred to werewolves, and Virgil once wrote- By means of these [toxic plants] I often saw him turned into a wolf This theory of humans turning into animals, spawned a terror, a pop icon, and a legend. In the basic story that dates to early forth century Europe, where the same basic tale flowed like the blood that kept a city alive, like a terror that kept children from staying past their bedtimes, and a soul of culture. Werewolves have traditionally been common folk in the stories and movies, but after the death of King John of England (who was a less than perfect king) his body was dug up in suspicion, that he was a werewolf. In sixteenth century France, serious laws were passed sentencing werewolves to death. The story goes that the victim is bitten by a wolf (or another werewolf) and then cursed by the devil. This transforms the man (or woman) into a hairy ferocious monster, but only by the light of the full moon. In other variations, there are warning signs, like the symbol of a pentagram on ones palm, or countless other things. As these yarns, being as old as dirt, all have a melting pot of details, there is also the different antidotes and destroying methods. Supposedly, only a silver bullet could kill a werewolf. In other stories, it was a silver bullet to a heart. The idea of using silver bullets, was faulty in its own. Silver is much to light a metal to do any damage, if a lead bullet (in many stories) could not surpass the hide, not a silver bullet. Than again, in other styles, a large amount of lead bullets could do in a were-beast just as well. As far antidote, monks-root (A.k.a wolfsbane) has traditionally been picked. As hopes of putting these legends to rest, I have compiled facts. These are the real facts on the disease of Lycanthrope, or werewolf syndrome. The first step to understanding Lycanthrope, is forgetting. Forget everything you have heard on the subject. Most of it is garbage anyway. Lycanthrope is a real, and serious disease. Lycanthrope is actually an advanced form of rabies. It is found only in carnivorous mammals, and is contracted only in special hybrid animals. These hybrids are usually the biggest and strongest of their kind. Lycanthrope genes usually consist of abnormal genetic structure, but can always be just a little different in each animal. There is no way that you can test an animal for them, and there never will be, because Lycanthrope evolves faster than the animal host. If an animal has Lycanthrope genes, it is like a ticking time bomb. The Lycanthrope passer must first catch rabies, and after so, Lycanthrope blocks out the rabies in its saliva, so the bright side is the victim doesnt catch rabies. This animal doesnt suffer from the rabid tendencies, but becomes smarter, and develops a craving for human flesh. In a rare chance, and this is rare because this world is so over populated, the animal will not know what this strange urge is, and will eat nothing else, and then die. When it finds humans, it will attack, and once it bites a human, two things happen at once. The first thing, is that from the saliva, Lycanthrope floods into the blood or the victim, where is flows through out the body. The next, is that human blood on the teeth of the animal, causing an allergic reaction, which then makes bile flood into the right and left ventricle and then makes the heart explode, killing the passer. This is an adaptation of Lycanthrope, assuring that the human victims rarely die from this encounter. From this time, there is no antidote. No magic potion can bring a victim back. Lycanthrope has a three month before effect. In this period of time, the victim feel drowsiness in the day, insomnia at nigh, irritability, sensitivity toward light, urges to eat meat less cooked than you usually would, and most importantly; mood swings that peak at the full moon.. These symptoms occur stronger depending on the gender of the victim. This is because the hormones of the Lycanthrope do not mix as well with estrogen (The female hormone) as they do with testosterone (the male hormone) After the first three months, Lycanthrope hormones cause the body to grow rapidly, grow hair on most parts of the body, and the victim to become more aggressive. This again, occurs more violently in females. And after this peak of werewolf syndrome, it all opposes itself. The victim will actually shrink more than six inches. Most sufferers have very little hair when off peak. Many females go bald. And again, the victims get much more mellow. As far as other legends, a silver bullets could kill a werewolf, but could it not kill yourself? All that I have not mentioned in facts are false. | |||
