was profiled on "This American Life" last Sunday. He was a would-be, almost-famous musician who never "broke out" in his own right, who got music back into his life when he discovered karaoke and became the world's greatest Tom Jones impersonator. Listening to this story I SO kept thinking of "Any Friend of Nicholas Nickelby's is a Friend of Mine." (And, like Nicholas Nickelby, Tom Jones is a character from British Literature!)

Tom Jones is one of the best books in English lit. Fielding was one of the greats.
