Hello All,

Yesterday Mr B and I were driving around LA, and we were listening to the Larry Elder Show, on AM 790, Larry had a guest host. and on the show he had, Dennis Miller. They were talking about Michael Moore, and Mr B said that he would like to be on Dennis's show.

So I booked it, and he'll be on next Thursday, July 15th, at 9pm in the LA area, on CNBC.

Take care
Patrick

Last time I saw Ray on a Dennis Miller program, was the night of the last Johhny Carson Tonight Show telecast. Often wondered when Ray and Dennis would ever get together again. They seemed to hit it off back then.

Got July 15th circled on the calendar. Thanks, Patrick.

I watched Dennis Miller a little last night... and was surprised how vulgar part of his show has become. What is with everyone? He had some guy there doing interviews with porn stars of how they would handle Iraq. Plain stupid.

What is it? You run out of ideas in areas and fill it up with sexual talk. It seems to be the thing to do. Somewhere I heard an interview couple weeks ago about American culture. The question was how do you define American culture? The answer was: Pop Culture! And that Pop Culture was what the religious 'fanatics' were mad at America about. And I think some politician said something to the effect of...well, America is so much more and you have to overlook Pop Culture. Wha ...?

I remember Miller himself being far less blatant in the sex department, but more effective in his rhetoric on the same subject.

If they were judging the country by today's "reality" shows and the actions of certain Americans abroad, it explains much.

In my area of Southern Califonia Dennis Miller is on at 6pm. A repeat at 9pm? I am also looking forward to hearing and seeing what Ray has to say on the show.
I saw him today at a book signing in Glendale and he was alert but looked quite tired. I hope his spirit stays strong and he continues to give us normal mortals a high mark to shoot for in terms of a positive attitude in times of great sorrow and stress. I took inspiration away with me today from the brief visit. Ray continues to amaze and inspire. The Cat's Pajamas is also a great read.

Speaking of Martin Milner, his family is desperately seeking a bone marrow donor for his daughter, Amy. See details here: http://www.geocities.com/martin_milner/

I spoke with Ray last evening and he sounded much stronger than several weeks ago when he was just out of the hospital. I, too, will be circling my calendar.

The Tomorrow Show with Tom Snyder was another show that Ray was on several times. He and Tom seemed to get along real well and I have tapes of two of the shows.

Last evening Ray was excited about his new book hitting the books and he mentioned a couple of his plays now in production around the LA area. And, he said, Sam Weller's biography is completed and is being sumbitted to his publisher.

Say, Patrick, do you drive Ray around sometimes in his Jaguar? He mentioned that he has one in his garage that he paid $12,000 for many years ago and someone has offered him $85,000 fo it.

Needless to say, it was great talking with Ray and hearing him so jubilant.

I've been on the Natl Marrow Donor Program for about 12 years now; I figure that if I'll let them take a pint of my blood every 8 weeks, they can take a tablespoon of marrow if it will help someone.

Biplane 1,

I saw one of those Tom Snyder shows. Usual great stuff, plus this sly exchange that I've mentioned on these boards long ago: Snyder was making the point that Bradbury didn't fly (or drive or some such) so had ridden the train to New York to be on the show. Ray complained at how small the rooms were on the train, especially the bathrooms, where the shower could barely hold two people. That got a laugh, then a bigger laugh from Snyder as the implication finally hit him.

Ray, you sly dog.

Best,

Pete
