When I was much younger, I read a story by Ray Bradbury called "Boys! Grow giant mushrooms in your cellar." I cannot find which collection it's in. I also think it might have had a second title. I'm trying to find it for my son, a new Bradbury fan. Please help. Tell us which book(s). Thanks.

You will have to look in a library, or online or a used book store, but that story is on page 589 of "The Stories of Ray Bradbury", it is a great collection. A total of 100 stories in one volume. This would be the book to run amok with, without time on your hands. I have had a great time reading it for quite some time. Have fun [This message has been edited by uncle (edited 04-07-2002).]

Thanks for the reply; when I originally read it, it was part of another book. Do you remember the original book? And while we're at it, there was a story about a rocket ship that was 1 day's run from a colony. The problem was that the temperature was too hot to get to the space ship during the day and too cold during the night. Do you remember the name of that story? thanks again.

"Frost and Fire" is in "R is for Rocket," and "Boys! Raise Giant Mushrooms in Your Cellar!" is in "The Machineries of Joy," and, as "Come into my Cellar," in "S is for Space." The only collection I can think of besides "The Stories of Ray Bradbury" which might contain both are one of the paperbacks "Classic Stories 1" and "Classic Stories 2."
