Bradbury movies. Any movies. All kinds of movies! Foreign and domestic. Budgets, no budgets. Small or large screenings. Independent, conglomerates. ___________________________________ "He's Just not that Into You" ...is soon hitting the theaters. The little clip I saw and I thought, these people are all grown up. Nothing left of childhood. Nothing left of being young. Adults. What's wrong here? Is this reality with a vital part of sanity missing? ____________________________________ "A Sound of Thunder" Technically, this was a surprise to me. I love the futuristic traffic scenes. ____________________________________ "The Small Assassin" by Beverly Ridge Pictures is being edited. Will be updated as soon as info is received. _____________________________________ There are NO FUNNY movies out there. Gross, vile, indignant, sarcastic, crude, rude and lewd. Funny? NO!! ______________________________________

INKHEART starts at the theaters this week. Books come to life. How would the Fahrenheit 451 police deal with that one? http://www.inkheartmovie.com/

Sure - just saw one a couple nights ago: Zack and Miri Make a Porno. Very funny. Lots of funny lines in an ultimately serious Clint Eastwood film, Gran Torino (my favourite Eastwood movie ever). Here's one Clint tells to his pub buddies: "A Mexican, a Jew and a colored guy walk into a bar; the bartender says 'get the f#&% outta here.'" Now that's funny! "Live Forever!"

Doug Spaulding I will not even attribute this to a generational gap. But funny is funny. For some reason crude has become funny. There is crude with truth. But truth has been vanquished by self promotion and funny has been replaced by something I do not think they have invented a name for yet. It's a mix-match of physical spasms connected to an adrenal rush causing coughing that mimics actual laughter. That's about the best I can describe current "funny".

Technically, it was surprise to me, too. So much money spent, so little to show for it. Ben Kingsley's hairdo was the most amazing special effect in the entire movie! - Phil Deputy Moderator | Visit my Bradbury website: www.bradburymedia.co.uk | Listen to my Bradbury 100 podcast: https://tinyurl.com/bradbury100pod

SofTh ~ After such a long wait...then a major disappointment. Campy even!

And made all the worse because it is one of the great sci-fi short stories ever! "Live Forever!"

In honour of the late Charles Schneer, how about discussing some of his great movies. Although they may have departed somewhat from the mythology, in films like The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad and Jason and the Argonauts, Schneer & Harryhausen made some of the most accessible attempts to portray classic myths on screen. My formative years were spent in amazement, watching their skeletons come to life, not to mention the magnificent giant crab in their adaptation of Verne's mysterious Island. (Until a few minutes ago, looking at IMDB, I hadn't know that Schneer once produced a biopic about Wernher von Braun. (In fact, I never knew there had BEEN a biopic about von Braun.)) - Phil Deputy Moderator | Visit my Bradbury website: www.bradburymedia.co.uk | Listen to my Bradbury 100 podcast: https://tinyurl.com/bradbury100pod

Just read a movie review in the NY Times. The movie is called MEDICINE FOR MELANCHOLY. I know there's not a copyright on titles, but it has Bradbury written all over it (just the title, not the movie). This message has been edited. Last edited by: The Lake,

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE ** 1/2 If the first 40 minutes lasted thruout the film, I'd give it 4 stars. Felt it fell apart after 40+ minutes and tried to recoup near the last 15 minutes. No go. The only reason, I feel, the film would win the top award for Best Picture would be because of the strong controversy it has generated in India and perhaps other countries previously ruled by the British. That's stretching it a bit, but they are tearing up some of the theaters in India where it is showing.

Wow! This seems to be a fun forum. It was because of such a forum that I got to know about shows by Andy Yeatman . I enjoyed watching these shows with my family and friends last year. He doesn’t work with Netflix anymore. Therefore, the new content isn’t that great.

Welcome. It can be a fun forum but needs more participation.
