Hi, I am Tom Lommen, the Science Fiction Specialist from PBA Galleries in San Francisco and I wanted to tell you about an item coming up at auction on Thursday, August 23rd, the rare asbestos binding issue of Fahrenheit 451, signed by Bradbury on the limitation page. Only a few copies of this specially bound first edition have been offered at any of the major auction houses in the past ten years. The asbestos material used for this binding has a high level of resistance to heat and fire, which, obviously, is a play on the plot of the book. You can bid online through PBA Galleries (www.pbagalleries.com) where you can also hear the auctioneer or through your existing eBAY account on eBAY. Here is a link to the item: http://www.pbagalleries.com/search/item183148.php? Also, there are other Bradbury lots in the sale. Please view lots 2 through 8 on the PBA Galleries website. Please let me know if you would like more information.

Price realized $ 4312 Someday there will be a price guide for all the different editions of Ray's books. As it is there isn't even a definitive guide to all the editions, let alone a price guide! It is quite difficult at times to find information on a particular edition. I would love to see a site with all the different editions with information and cover scans.

There was such a price guide published in the UK. Phil, a little help here. I'd have to dig thru too many boxes to find it... John King Tarpinian You know what you are, Mr. Bradbury? ... You are a poet! -- Aldous Huxley

Happy to oblige, jkt. I think the guide you are referring to is this one: http://www.collectors-club-of-...product.asp?prod=609 (Yes, it looks like it's all about Spitfires, but look closely at the bottom right corner of the cover and you will spy a familiar face.) Which reminds me, I ordered a copy from their website about 6 weeks ago, and it still hasn't arrived... - Phil Deputy Moderator | Visit my Bradbury website: www.bradburymedia.co.uk | Listen to my Bradbury 100 podcast: https://tinyurl.com/bradbury100pod
