I may be wrong, but is this above first timer post actually 'spam' coming over from the old website just closed down last week? Hope not!

I, too, am a bit leary seeing smatterings of what might be construed as "commercialism" as part of a post. It doesn't matter what part of a post, I don't think that it is necessary as I am sure that we all could post something relative to what we do professionally, but have elected not to do so.

Hmp. For the info of all, I am just a new comer here.. And about the links below my sig, just don't mind that...Just don't open it if you want, I am telling you, this can't harm any of your site..Trust me..Okay! ..

I really just want to be part of this conversation.. SmilerForget the links, what is more important are the things being discussed here, and not the links..

Would that be okay??

Thanks in advance..

Nice try leahn, but you would take away any risk of offending if you were to remove those links.

What other board members may not realise (but I am SURE leahn knows very well) is that search engines such as Google rank websites according to how many other web pages link to them. Every time leahn posts to this board, those three websites gain more 'points'.

I would recommend that the board adopt a policy of no commercial advertising except where it directly relates to Ray Bradbury. Many other message boards have a similar policy.

leahn,
A well-spoken new person about the board. Happy to make your acquaintance. Converse away.

Woh, you have like no idea how long I've been trying to get some corporate sponsorship for my postings. Lucky guy.

There is very little WE should HAVE to ignore at this site. If friendly conversing is really your aim, then lose the spam link. That was something that you chose to include, not something that we should be forced to ignore. I personally do not want to see a spam link on here. Seriously folks, this type of thing led to the demise of the old board, it's insiduous. Just my thought.

Robot Lincoln: EXACTLY! The old Bradbury board was fun to have. SPAM ran it outta town. Hopefully, the legitimate postings and topics will soon make their way o'er here. There was a lot of 'em.

leahn, perhaps re-registering would help. As I think you might gather, we want new people to particpate in the board but without the extra baggage.

Please understand that we are still smarting from an avalanche of unwanted and unsolicited, what might be best described as "crap."
