Has anyone else read the play. I ended up getting it to do a scene from in a drama class and am going to try to get the theater group I belong to in St. Louis to do a production. It is very interesting. It is, of course, written by Bradbury and he made some fascinating changes and furthur character developments.

Spoilers to follow so don't look if you want to read or see it for yourself:

Faber is Clarisse's uncle.
Faber is killed by Beatty who "kills him with words" through the earpiece.
Beatty and Mrs. Hudson (the woman who burns herself) have a "sparring session" quoting great literature to one another before she lights herself up.
Beatty has a room full of books and shows them to Montag in a great scene that fleshes out his character a lot.
Beatty spares Montag's life by letting him go and then kills himself (while reading a book)by giving the hound his own "scent."
Clarisse lives and ends up with Montag at the end.

Thanks for the information. I've never had a chance to read the play though Bradbury hints at some of the changes in his afterword to F-451. Very interesting. Good luck with your production.

Specificlaly, here's the cover. I, personally, no like....A Modern Day, Contemporary Classic, should be... alarming, captivating. This cover looks little like stuffy 19th century classics instead.......

Yep, a pretty dull cover. I think they should have used the Mugnaini art that was printed on the dust jacket of the original edition--that was a great cover...
