I've always been dubious about seeing science fiction as anything to do with predicting the future, but any TV series that seeks to explore the works of Mary Shelley, Jules Verne, H.G.Wells, Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein and Philip K. Dick can't be all bad:
