Porn is a substitute for everything one cannot achieve. Every nuance of deepest emotions, 'faked'...by something else.

That's why it totally obliterates a genuine identity somewhere, earlier or later. And since it substitutes itself for the genuine identity, it gives a grand boost to anything anyone thinks they are. But it's not real.

That's about as compact a definition of the poison as I can figure at this moment. For more elaborate heart-rendering discriptions, talk to those that finally came out of it, those 'lucky' ones....

Reviews starting to trickle in.

Initial reports say Moore's Fahrenheit makes America look like the bad guys, and Iraq like the good guys, who were not looking for trouble. Hmm! That doesn't sound too settling since those the hate America can be found ALL around the world.

In the meantime, someone explain this to me:
I read that the movie is a documentary. And then I see it advertised as a 'satire'. Okay, a 'satire' I could see the reasons for certain scenes that were shown on TV, like Bush swinging at the golf ball as he turns away from cameras into which he had just declared the importance of getting rid of the terrorists.

In a documentary you better have the facts straight.

So which is it? (please don't say BOTH)

On some other thread I posted about seeing an item in the paper on Tuesday, in which Moore admitted the movie was his opinion and made no pretense at ALL of presenting a "fair and balanced picture."

Now why doesn't he make one blaming the U. S. as the aggressor in WWII and Germany and Japan as nice peaceloving nations not looking for a bad time? Only, it wouldn't be original. I've heard Roosevelt blamed for Pearl Harbor before. Supposedly "let it happen" to end the Depression.

The unlucky ones being Millie/Linda in "Fahrenheit 451" and the unfortunate family in "The Veldt"--people who become so addicted to a fantasy world they will trade living relatives for it. The lucky ones being the couple in "The Beasts" in Ray's "One More for the Road" collection.

When I said Invasions happen with rifles, I was speaking meatphorically. You guys aren't dangerouse. In a year everybody will have forgotten Moore's pop flick, but the classics live forever.

I'm not quit sure why you printed Army in all caps. I'm guessing you're trying to be sarcastic.
