I read a short story many years ago about people who lived only 3 days and were on a world that was too hot during the day and too cold at night. In this I found the best defense of scientific method I have ever read. I believe that the story was Fire and Ice and was by Bradbury. Can anyone confirm this and tell me where I could find it?

The story is in fact "Fire and Ice" by Bradbury. You can find this story in "The Golden Apples of the Sun"

Is this a story that has passed me by? Or are you guys really talking about "Frost and Fire"? Phil

I know it's been published as "The Creatures that Time Forgot" and "Frost and Fire." I assumed "Fire and Ice" was another alternate title.

also found in R is for Rocket, I believe.

My mistake. I had been reading Robert Frost's "Fire and Ice" when answering the question. I did indeed mean "Frost and Fire".
