Would you like to eat lunch with Star Trek's Bob Picardo, own Carl Sagan's own copy of his sensational paper on extraterrestrial life, or chat about space travel with a shuttle astronaut? All this and more will be sold in The Planetary Society's first ever on-line auction, running from November 2 until November 12, 2005. To raise funds for its programs, The Planetary Society is offering everything from autographed books to one-of-a-kind celebrity experiences. The final hour of the auction -- conducted on eBay -- will coincide with the Society's 25th Anniversary Gala Awards Dinner in Arcadia, California, where guests will be able to place on-line bids during the reception. At the dinner, director James Cameron and author Ray Bradbury will both receive special awards. For more information and a link to the auction, go to http://planetary.org. | |||
