How about a string for sites where Mr. Bradbury does just that! It might make an interesting way to collect many of his philosophies, views on then-now-later, and also give those looking for research a place to review his words in text. How about a basic or simple statement on the theme and then the site? Here's are two for starters: Mel, just make the movie!!! F451 article. http://www.hollywoodinvestigator.com/2002/bradbury.htm Interview on stage and video, Point Loma Nazarene University's Writer's Symposium by the Sea 29. mins. (Listed once deep in the posts. Great!) http://www.uctv.tv/library-test.asp?showID=5534 [This message has been edited by fjpalumbo (edited 03-10-2004).]

fjpalumbo, Just had to return and tell you that these links are simply wonderful. (Now, back to my distant planet).
|
Loved the first link, and will check out the second one later. Does anyone have any information on the book he mentioned, Too Soon From the Caves....? I don't recall that one being released yet, but maybe I missed it.

Laughed myself silly at that first one. I'm sure my brother-in-law, an astrophysicist, will get a "Big Bang" out of it!

Onion Club Interview, June 1999. Topics include: Censorship, languages, screenplays, Mars, and education. A few sharp retorts on the state of things in general. http://www.theavclub.com/avclub3523/avfeature3523.html

"A Night of Ray Bradbury." http://www.dothings.com/WBookBrad.htm I disagree with his comments on Rod Serling and am willing to defend my position. Keep in mind some of Ray's remarks are summarized here so won't be exact words.

fjpalumbo: Excellent links. The interview done by the young girl from Verdugo Hills, was priceless. Unqiue new questions done in a very nice way. Thanks...

Here is the often requested "CODA" from Fahrenheit 451. RB at the very top of his literary game. http://www.rjgeib.com/thoughts/451/451.html

I'm sticking with this thread only;it holds the key. Here is a "hot off the press" interview with RB: http://www.palisadespost.com/content/index.cfm?Story_ID=205 Ray says he's like a "grenade" when he gives speeches. [This message has been edited by Green Shadow (edited 03-12-2004).]

Really nice find GS! The ink is still drying on the article - 3/11. RB is a busy as ever. Thanks.

Yea, I enjoyed it, also. Love his self-image of himself as a kind of intellectual hand grenade.

Just discovered this Ph.D. thesis on-line. It's not as dull and academic as you might think - and it contains several full-text interviews from various parts of Ray's career. Particularly interesting to hear the true story of Ray and John Huston: http://etd.lib.fsu.edu/theses/available/etd-11182003-234211/unrestricted/Aggelis_Dissertation.pdf - Phil

Phil: Items from 1948-2003 in that paper. I perused and will give it a closer look when time allows (200+ pgs!!). Good find. Here is Mr. Bradbury's remarks upon receiving the Lifetime Achievement from 2000 National Book Foundation Medal Award Presentation.
