The 1980 TV Special Stan Freberg Federal Budget Review is a whimsical look at the absurdities of the United States Federal Budget. Hosted by Stan Freberg in a variety show style, it features sketches and many musical numbers. David Ogden Stiers portrays an Internal Revenue Service agent as a Nazi officer, which is on point and perfectly correct. Ray Bradbury has two cameos, one in which he laughs and calls the Federal Budget “the best science fiction I ever read,” and one in which he throws a copy of the budget into the trash. There is nothing objectionable unless anyone objects to elephants being used in entertainment because an elephant does appear. The program is short and fairly entertaining and a person might learn something about the federal budget. | |||
