I (and, I'm sure, many others on this site) applaud your decision! F451 is the book that converted me from a non-reading ninth-grader to a college professor with two masters degrees. It is literally the case that F451 is the book that converted me to a reader. The reading of this book is what got me reading everything else: religion, science fiction, fantasy, philosophy, theology, literature, biography, history, political science, etc. It all goes to a reading of F451.

An amazing transformation indeed. Was it singer Kate Smith who said she never spoke a word till age 8 because "God was saving her voice"? Although the subject here is fantasy, truth can sometimes be as strange.

Hmmm! This Site is having an 'anxiety episode,' because of the impending changing of the year? All the Message Boards come up with....is: 1455(ox000005af) Just that! Somehow I skeeted onto this page...probably by being mistook for a Tolkien Hobbit. Hobbits go everywhere, did you know? Even to a Bradbury Site, evidently...
