hello! every since i can remember my father has always told me about a story homecoming. He is one of the biggest fans of ray bradbury and i believe that this story he used to tell me about is part of a ray bradbury book or a book of short stories. Hi Emily.

(One of my all-time favorite names, by the way. Came very close to naming one of my daughters Emily. Check out a Moody Blues song, called "Emily's Song" It is on the "Every Good Boy Deserves Favor" album. A gorgeous song. When these guys mixed pop with symphonic backgrounds, they were absolutely awesome!)

I'm not sure about a web site. Someone else who spends more time on the web could probably get you there.

"The Stories of Ray Bradbury" (Alfred A Knopf, publisher)

Also, this story has recently been expanded into a novel. This has received significant critical praise. I have it, but haven't read it, yet. "From the Dust Returned" Ray Bradbury. William Morrow, NY. 2002.

If your dad loved the story, and loves Ray, you might consider this as a perfect Christmas gift for him. I'm sure you could get it on Amazon.com.

Mr. Dark, that's freaky--I've always loved the name Emily, as, I'm sure, does Ray Bradbury, due to the influence of Emily Dickinson. And how about the Simon and Garfunkel song, "To Emily, wherever I may find Her," although the name appears only in the title? It's a lovely song. My mom always hated the name. Although her mother had a beloved cousin Emily, Mom said "Little Emily" in "David Copperfield" spoiled the name for her for all time. I just read "Jane-Emily," a novel by Patricia Clapp, and if you ever read THAT sucker, it will not only just about turn you off the name Emily for all time, but Victorian gazing balls as well!

I love that song. That is another great one. It hadn't occurred to me before.
