Hi,
I am looking for said movie. I have read press releases about it, but I don't seem to be able to find it. The 1st movie seemed to change the book a lot. I was hoping this one was better because I teach the book in my class and I would love to show parts of it to my class. Anyone out there have it? Please email me if you do.

Thanks,
Albert

I recall reading a press release a few years ago about this planned production, but I do not think the film was ever made. Unfortunately, this sort of occurrence is not that uncommon in the film industry. I agree with you about the first screen version of THE ILLUSTRATED MAN. The script was not written by Ray, and the film, despite an excellent cast, was a sad misfire. Ray feels the same way. I once heard Ray comment that, at the film's premiere, a youngster who had also seen the film came up to him afterward and said, "Mr. Bradbury, what happended?" If Hollywood would only do what the late director Sam Peckinpah told Ray he would do if he had the chance to film SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES: "Tear the pages of the book out and stuff them in the camera."

Thanks for the info,Richard. It saddens me to think that the film was never made. Guess that's life.

Richard:::

Sam Peckinpah supposedly had an abundant chance to film 'Something Wicked This Way Comes'.....but sat on the project for so long, that Ray pulled it. And after Sam had an option on the film for only $1000.
Later, in a letter, Sam Peckinpah wrote that it was like "...salt to the wounds..." ...when the subject of him not taking advantage of the opportunity to film "Something Wicked..." came up....
