I'm trying to remember a short story of Bradbury's that I read as a child. It is about a society tries to make everyone's ability uniform, for example weighing down someone who could run extraordinarly fast. I have been seaarching the web and I can't seem to place which one of his short stories this is. Can anyone help me please, this is driving me crazy!!

It's called HARRISON BERGERON and it is one of my favorite stories ever. However, it wasn't written by Mr. Bradbury. The author of this wonderful story is Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

If we counted, I think it would win as the story most frequently falsely attributed to Bradbury.

dandelion,

I once inquired about whether a story was one of RB's and what the title was, and you informed me it was EXAMINATION DAY by Henry Slesar(?). How's the guy's name spelled? I'd love to read that story again. I can't remember if the child was supposed to pass or die, or fail or die. Don't tell me.

Yes, and that's about the SECOND non-Bradbury story most frequently attributed to Ray: http://users.ev1.net/~homeville/isfac/s224.htm#A4153.8
