Here is another Ray-related appearance, scheduled the evening of April 1st, after the Walk of Fame ceremony: See the following URL for information on this event at 7PM in North Hollywood. Ray to appear onstage with radio talk show host Kitty Felde and L.A. Mayor James Hahn to discuss Fahrenheit 451 and censorship issues. Also appearing is Erwin Chemerinsky, a First Amendment expert. (I am told by my wife that the event is first-come, first-served, and it's a small venue. Damn.) http://scpr.org/programming/talkofthecity/ (Scan down to the heading "Coming Up on Talk Of The City") In relation to this appearance, the City of Los Angeles is sponsoring the follwing: The One Book One City campaign in Los Angeles will kick off with all Angelinos (I hate that term!) invited to read F-451 during the month of April. I've also heard something about live readings of F-451 in L.A. in connection with this project. Cheers, all! Pat.

I found a link to an article about the ceremony giving the star that was given to Ray Bradbury today on the Walk of Fame. for what it is worth it is. I wish I could have been there. They are having an interview over the radio, and I am going to see if I can pick it up over the net. http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/020401/10316_1.html [This message has been edited by uncle (edited 04-01-2002).] [This message has been edited by uncle (edited 04-01-2002).] [This message has been edited by uncle (edited 04-01-2002).] [This message has been edited by uncle (edited 04-01-2002).]

Just a heads up that Ray will be at the LA Farmer's Market Barnes and Noble today at noon. For more, see the website in the original post or the B&N website.

We've yet to see pictures from the Star Ceremony or any of these things.

I didn't bring my camera today, but Ray said that he would be at the Los Angeles Festival of Books later this month (UCLA, Apr 27,28). My wife says she'll insist that I bring it then. There were many people with cameras and even some with video cameras today, so hopefully someone can put their images up!

Ok, I'm sorry, I know this won't be accessible to hardly anyone on this board, but I just have to brag a bit...because Ray is coming to *my hometown* this weekend to introduce a screening of F-451: http://www.dailybreeze.com/content/bln/nmpbradbury11.html Note the price of admission for the film, too ($4.51)! Thanks, firehrt. Thanks for telling us about that website, http://www.lapl.org/F451/events.html. That site contains not only the photo from the "Hollywood Walk of Fame" Star Presentation, but also a nice fat calendar of events including appearances by Ray, discussions about Ray at various Barnes and Noble bookstores, etc. Hooray The really futuristic thing would be to have **forthcoming** events, on that list at the lapl (Los Angeles Public Library) site or on this raybradbury.com website, or somewhere. That's right, at this moment, the lapl's dates have all gone by. Well-made list of dead horses. "Coming in April," rah-rah. That does't quite fit what I need. I am trying to find a coming events calendar of Ray's appearances, telling me about them ***before*** they happen. Just making it clear, doncha know. Of course, today is only the 1st of the month, and maybe lapl will update jiffy-quick, unrolling a glimpse of the future. Hope is a splendid commodity, of course. In the meantime, does anyone know where there is any other list of his forthcoming appearances?? His publishers should want to have the public know and attend, his agent might like to publicize his talks, since I'm sure they're a force in selling more books. But where can we actually see the list? Please, members, do reply, help me out, I have a friend wanting to see Ray for the first time ever. And I spaced out on the April 27th opportunity (duuhhh) and need to redeem myself fast!! Thanks, Uncle Dave
