Earlier This Week I Read An Article In The Paper Reporting That We Have Killed Approx. 90% Of The Population Of Five Different Fish Species; Tuna, Cod, Halibut, Marlin, I Don't Recall The 5th. A Spokesperson For The Fish Said,"Mankind Has Gotten Too Good At Killing Fish." After Much "Grokking" On The Matter I've Found Many Parallels In Several SF Stories I've Read. Are We Indeed Killing Off Our Beautiful Golden Eyed Natives Of The Sea? In A Related Story, Marine Biologist Have Discovered A New Species Of Fish. This New Fish Appears To Be Hostile Towards Humans, Fishermen Imparticular. They've Named The Species "Yassir Arafattemus". [This message has been edited by RAINTASTER (edited 05-25-2003).]

Raintaster, You have a good point. While I think that there is nothing wrong with humans using the living world around them for food... there is a certain fatalistic impulse in the way we run this planet... On another note: what's always gotten my goat is that irritating spokes-fish, that smug sonofabitch Charlie Tuna, with his cheeky little beret, advertising the devouring of his own species. Now, that's just sick. You Know that he cut some sweet deal to save his own precious scales... Dan
