The nominees for the 2023 Ray Bradbury Prize for Science Fiction, Fantasy & Speculative Fiction, awarded as part of the LA Times Festival of Books, have been announced. The Prize, sponsored by Ray Bradbury Literary Works, is designed to honor Ray's literary legacy by celebrating today's writers working in his field. The winner will be announced on April 21, 2023. This year's nominees are: 1. THE BOOK OF THE MOST PRECIOUS SUBSTANCE, by Sara Gran (Dreamland Books) 2. SPEAR, by Nicola Griffith (Tor) 3. THE BALLAD OF PERILOUS GRAVES, by Alex Jennings (Hatchette Book Group/Redhook) 4. THE MOUNTAIN IN THE SEA, by Ray Naylor (MCD) 5.
