Hi,

I'm an actor who will be be portraying Ray Bradbury in a new Off-Broadway-bound show authorized by his estate. Our first staged reading is April 12 in NYC. I'm writing to invite interested members of the board to attend this staged reading.

There's no charge. There'll be potential investors & producers there, but I'd love to also have some fellow Bradbury nuts in the audience. What we're trying to do is to give Ray Bradbury the same sort of loving stage treatment that Hal Holbrook gave Mark Twain back in the 50's.

If you're interested in attending, please write me at raybradburyliveforever@gmail.com. The particulars are below and also at the show site https://www.raybradburyliveforever.com:

Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 7pm
Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd St., NYC 10036

Thank you very kindly,
Bill

Sadly, Bill Obrest has announced on his website that, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the remaining 2020 performances of his play "Ray Bradbury Live (Forever)" have been cancelled. Hopefully, 2021 will see new dates being scheduled.

Below is a link to a short film about the fine visual effects created by Christopher Cooksey for Bill Obrest's play about Ray Bradbury, "Ray Bradbury Live (Forever)". I want to see that show very much. Hopefully, conditions will allow it to resume touring in 2021!

Bill Obrest has posted on his "Ray Bradbury Live (Forever)" website that, due the COVID pandemic, there will be no performances of that show in 2021. The site indicates that bookings are now being accepted for the 2022-2023 season.

The COVID pandemic has only temporarily (we hope!) resulted in the cessation of performances of Bill Obrest, Jr.'s show, RAY BRADBURY LIVE (FOREVER). The next best thing is viewing Mr. Obrest speaking at the Waccamaw Library in his native Georgetown, South Carolina about Ray Bradbury. An added treat is Mr. Obrest's recitation, at the beginning of his talk, of my very favorite Ray Bradbury poem, "Remembrance". Since Mr. Obrest notes at one point in his talk that Ray would have been 99 years old today, that would put the date of this event as August 22, 2019. My apologies to Mr. Oberst for spelling his last name incorrectly in several of my above postings. Thanks for catching it, dandelion!
