fjp 451,
You’ve reminded me of so many of those unforgettable and unique moments in a concert hall or a club.

You beat me to it, Chap. Miss Allyson was from the Golden Era of the Big Screen. She always was a class act, even though various times in her personal life were quite unsettled.

A bright Star - in the best sense of the word - during 60 years in the public's eye. "May peace be hers."

Just saw the film “Lady In The Water” and am sure that it was influenced a lot by Ray Bradbury--“but don’t tell him I said so.”

Red Buttons passed away July 13, 2006--and he actually did get a dinner; in 1982.

Jack Warden (1920 – 2006)

God! This has been a rough couple of weeks!

Wow. Jan Murray too. I remember seeing him on TV a LOT in the '60s.

And Mopie the gorilla!
Sheesh.

I don't get the daily paper relying, perhaps too much, on getting news from TV and the Internet. But I missed on Jan Murray and Red Buttons passing away.

I got "Twilight Zone, Season 2" for my birthday about a month ago. The other night I watched "Will The Real Martian Please Stand Up". In it, Jack Elam exclaims, "She's a real science fiction she is! A regular Ray Bradbury!"

(I found a still fom this episode showing Jack as the Crazy Old Coot!)

Last night I stopped for a bite at a fast food restaurant and on my way in was vaguely aware of a woman sitting at a table with her kids and laughing. My back was to her when I filled my soda cup and hearing her laugh some more I thought what a wonderful sound it is to hear a parent enjoying time with their children. Then when I turned around I realized that she wasn’t laughing with the kids at all; she was ignoring them and talking on a cell-phone.

Ray said there’d be days like this.
