Stories told of admiration. "Live Forever!"

Hoping they win, Doug! Great anecdote about Ray Bradbury published a year ago, "A Martian Joined Ray Bradbury and Me for Dinner in Paris" by Henry Fountain: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06...r-in-paris.html?_r=0

HarperCollins Publishers will release a fairly affordable audiobook CD of Ray Bradbury's reading of Fahrenheit 451 on August 20, 2013. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/...69?ean=9780062314253

I received the F451 CD many years ago from Mr. B and have never open the original wrap from the work. However, in the same mailing he forwarded a collection of materials related to The Big Read of 451. GREAT AUDIO! (I have referred to many time in F451 seminars for all ages!) http://www.audioeditions.com/a...nheit-451-309293.jpg http://ecx.images-amazon.com/i...hpEYzB5L._SY300_.jpg Captivating opening comments from the Big Read, including Sam Weller's view of the classic story. Yet, to hear Mr. Bradbury's voice tell of his love of books and libraries and authors and life... Well, it just does not get any better!! I have the previous release of Ray reading F451. I don't know exactly when it was recorded, but Ray isn't as energetic as on the recordings of MARTIAN CHRONICLES or FANTASTIC TALES OF RB, although he still has his moments. The MC and FANTASTIC TALES recordings, however, have the added bonus of Ray stopping to talk about the stories, something you don't often get in audiobooks. - Phil Deputy Moderator | Visit my Bradbury website: www.bradburymedia.co.uk | Listen to my Bradbury 100 podcast: https://tinyurl.com/bradbury100pod

At 7:00 p.m. tonight the SyFy (sorry 4E) channel's Twilight Zone marathon will be showing "Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up." This is the episode where Ray is mentioned directly. John King Tarpinian You know what you are, Mr. Bradbury? ... You are a poet! -- Aldous Huxley

...in which one of the great lines of all of those classic TZ's is stated by Jack Elam: > After the old man inquires about why it matters who was on the bus, the officers tell everyone that someone called reporting a UFO, and it appears to have crashed nearby. Slowly, everyone pieces things together. No one entered the diner until the bus passengers, and there were six passengers on the bus, but there are seven people in the diner, so one of them must have been flying the crashed UFO. No one is able to recall who was on the bus and who wasn’t, so it appears we’ve got quite the mystery on our hands. Or, as Crazy Eyes puts it: “She’s just like a science fiction, that’s what she is! A regular Ray Bradbury!” http://myrottingbrain.files.wo...2-29-21h59m48s71.png

"Purfuit of Happineff"? One of my traditions for Independence Day is listening to "Stan Freberg Presents The United States of America". ("Rumble, rumble, rumble. Mutiny, mutiny, mutiny.")

You had me at "cake". Speaking of Logan, I had supper with Bill Nolan last night. A sparkling conversationalist! We spent a good five hours talking and dining. Talked a lot about Steve King, George, Rich Matheson, politics, spirituality, werewolfism and sundry. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Doug Spaulding, "Live Forever!"
