"The Groon" was a wonderfully creepy poem for kids by Ray Bradbury. A cartoon version of the poem was presented on the children's show, CURIOSITY SHOP, back in 1971. The executive producer of THE CURIOSITY SHOP was animator, and close Ray Bradbury friend, Chuck Jones. The link below will take you to a written version of the poem: http://whereoldghostsplay.blog...dbury-from-when.html And the following link will take you to a reading of the poem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0IU21kiA2g&t=65s Finally, the link immediately below will take you to one person's vision of what the Groon might have looked like. The Groon puppet was created by artist and filmmaker Christopher Moonlight for the film LIVE FOREVER: THE RAY BRADBURY ODYSSEY (a film that unfortunately seems to have never received any distribution after its initial premier): https://www.google.com/search?...aa6d,vid:atqCZ-bocrYThis message has been edited. Thanks for sharing the cool post of the fx animation. As an fx artist and stop-motion animator myself, it was a real treat to see this, especially since it's the moniker I chose for my profile here so many years ago. My definition of The Groon has always been that it's what goes bump in the night. Maybe it just didn't want to be seen.... | ||||
