Does anyone think that the decline in interest in Ray Bradbury has had anything to do with the events of 2004 with Michael Moore and all the hype? I was clearing out my emails when I remembered the arguements and I wondered whether this had happened. I wonder also whether in the current cultural climate whether a book about destroying books and attacking learning might actually a bit too upsetting considering the current US Governments attidude to any idea that it dislikes and the rise of fundamentalsim in the US overall. chunkylimey: Decline in interest? Hmm?! Ray is routinely taught in most high schools thruout the US. He is very popular in other countries, even Mexico. Russia still elevates his writings to high levels. His books still sell welleverywhere. And he was recently honored by the White House with President Bush bestowing the man a medal for his contribution to American literature. Michael Moore? I think...I recall the name somewheres...

Apparently, "chunkylimey" is only aware of Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451", and possibly only the title!

Chunkylimey, Hey, you're one of those trolls, aren't you? Tossing out a provocative statement or two to get a response. Well, I won't bite. No, sir, I won't.

To quote Detective Joe Friday, "Just the facts, ma'am. Just the facts." "I don't agree with the copyright laws and I don't have a problem with people downloading the movie and sharing it with people. As long as they're not doing it to make a profit, you know, as long as they're not trying to make a profit off my labor. I would oppose that." -Michael Moore http://www.thedailyfarce.com/stories/2005/06/images/moore.gif [This message has been edited by fjpalumbo (edited 02-28-2006).] fpalumbo
