Yeah, there was a really different feel to the Lazenby movie. Darker, kinda creepy feel. Come on wordsmiths, give it a name.

MOONRAKER was a strange one. As crazy as I am for all things SFnal, James Bond in space is a bit too much. Well, THAT particular James Bond was too much, too many... years old that is. A younger James Bond may have been believable in space, acting more secret agently and less campy of course. As it is it seems more like a Matt Helm movie.

I completely agree with your assessment of Moore and Moonraker. Interesting to note that when Connery was replaced after the '71 film, it was with someone who was three years older than him!

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” is considered by some hard core James Bond film fans (say that five times fast) as the best of the series. I’m not sure if that still stands now that “Casino Royale” 2006 is out.

OHMSS to me was one of the brightest of the films. It had a real holiday Christmas flavor with songs like “Do You Know How Christmas Trees Are Made?” The Lois Armstrong numbers however are beautiful and moody, especially the haunting “We Have All The Time In The World”

I must say, that I miss mightily the religious fervor that springs out of nowhere at times on this board. Doug Spaulding, the in-house heretic, seems to like to grapple horns when convenient. Oh, perhaps heretic is too strong a word. He does hit the mark on occasion.

And then I think of this, The End of the World: With all the video cameras poking out from the top of walls or peering from the covering branches of trees, on top of fences and building roofs and above porch lights, all thruout the world, it gets kinda spookywhen you add all the supposedly recorded phone conversations of all the phone conversations everywhere (at least in these United States), as well as internet tracking world wide, where each stroke of the key is recorded in some vast realm of The Vast Recordings Department Of Earth, and then think of a couple scriptures that describe a time when every single word you say, even words in utmost secret, will be shouted from housetops for all the world to hear and no one will be able to hide from the judgment brought by the words they speak. Gee, how close are we getting to that?

One of the most terrifying scriptures:
Matthew 12:33 - "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment." (KJV)

They're starting again, and I didn't do anything! Now I've been called a heretic.

I think I'll do what a certain Historical Figure did, and turn the other cheek.

I originally wrote something kinda offensive. My bad. No way for me to behave in "His place". I apologize to anyone offended by it who happened to read it, as it was only intended for Mr. Ob-Knox-ious and even at that a complete knee-jerk reaction.

grasstains, yours was probably not a knee jerk reaction. You should have left it in. If it had to do with the previous post knocking Doug Spaulding on the head with a rap, he deserved it. I'd call Doug a "seeker preacher" kinda guy. He lets out a large umbrella hoping to catch fish of all kinds. That's fine. But he must stand up to some scrutiny as well. We all have to. Many of us come from different positions in our Christian walk. I have been taught under some of the best Protestant evangelical and Catholic theologians. Doug says he has had a great Christian education. There is a requirement to be responsible in the word. To the non-believer, or half-hearted believer, it all sounds like malarkey. Ray Bradbury, for instance, will likely not admit to an authentic allegiance with Christ because he has been disappointed in life, tho I consider him looking in his self-protected way.

There's no offense taken, not here anyway, if it was directed in that way.
