Here's a link to the short piece in the Washington City Paper I hope you'll read and enjoy Ray Bradbury-Beyond Science Fiction

I agree with the writer of the article. The label of science-fiction and fantasy is incorrect. Bradbury's writing is more. Maybe a different word needs to be invented...(like Asimov inventing the word 'robot') ...a totally different word to distinguish Bradbury's fine body of work. It does, after all, stand alone in that wide world of fiction.
|
Inventing a single word to describe Ray's work? Tall order, indeed. Let me get back to you... I went to that link and made a comment about Ray and the award. I spelled 'Pulitzer' wrong. My apologies...

The word should be Bradburian. "Live Forever!"

Doug Spaulding: Don't you think it sounds too Orwellian? Or Barbarian? It's a mix of specicialized poetry, metaphoricals (!!), and Bradbury's indisputable imprint. Maybe not exactrly Bradbur-ian..but along the lines of Bradbury-something.

Bradburyian, Bradburyesque, Bradburyous. Bradbulous? Raytastic? - Phil Deputy Moderator | Visit my Bradbury website: www.bradburymedia.co.uk | Listen to my Bradbury 100 podcast: https://tinyurl.com/bradbury100pod

philnic; I like that raytastic. Sounds better than Bradburian. This is a toughie. Raykind! Raywhile! Rayprose!
|
How about Poetic Prose. The man is a poet, who also writes prose in a most unusual and very poetic way. Thus, the tears of joy upon reading the poetry in the prose.

If it's supposed to be one word...prosetry?
