Photos here of Ray Bradbury before and after his Pandemonium Players stage production of 'Autumn People' on Sunday afternoon, October 22nd, 2006. Many found here that special time to also talk with Ray and have a book signed, especially the just released 'Farewell Summer'.

After catching a look at Nik Grant's contribution of photos, I figure maybe I really have gotten carried away with far too many photo taking events. I figured someone somewhere in the future may need to find a photo or two of this particular history of Ray. But, by gosh, many others are doing likewise. So, after this photo of Nik and myself, taken by a great guy, Santiago, who takes care of Ray on a nearly daily basis, less 'Paparazzi' mentality on my part in the future. Nik has it right.

I disagree! Your efforts on many fronts have been awesome! The more the merrier. Its nice to get another's perspective, but I think I'm with the general consensus here that your many myriads of details contributed to this board and your fortunate proximity to Ray himself constitute many indispensable pieces to the puzzle we call RayBradbury.com! Keep on truckin brother!!!

What exactly IS the not-often-seen book in the seventh picture? It looks very intriguing, but I can't make out the title.

Right, RL. Nard! The pictures can never be too many. For the vast majority of us who have great distances from where we type to where Mr. B's next appearance is set, the photos are an opportunity to share in the joy of the event - even if only vicariously. This site is a conglomeration of writers, wonderers, painters, lecturers, wanderers, drivers, photographers, cinematographers, performers, teachers, biographers, and, most importantly, readers who arrive from time to time (some more often than others, yet none for trumpets or medals) to share a bit of information on a great American writer who has somehow touch each of our lives. Mr. Bradbury!

Your 1st hand knowledge and immediate proximity to the events, biplane's phone calls, Dandy's organizing, Mr. Dark's astute observations, Braling II's keen perspectives, Robot Lincoln's well-versed considerations, Philnic's expertise from across the Big Pond, as well as the positive remarks and updates of Chap, Lake, lmskipper, and all the rest of the crew, who add insights daily, make this a truly a phenomenal site of communication.

I do not participate elsewhere, so maybe I comment naively. This place is too good to travel elsewhere. It's like the Homecoming each time I log on; Who is going to appear and what will he/she bring to the fore?

So, I hope you keep on adding the pictures. It's like being there, even if only from the distance! Thanks.

Frank, what a nice comment. You are so true for a group of varied individuals who have one main interest, i.e, Ray Bradbury, it is a fantastic site and really interesting gathering of like-minded people.

I just off the phone with Ray asking him about the word "murmer." I never, ever, take lightly the privilege that I have to call him directly and speak with him. And I don't call that often to make a pest of myself. But when I say "It's Michael calling from Florida" he seems to brighten up and always asks how I am doing. What a treat!

Thanks bro! Is it Pete? I know my humor is twisted at times.

Nard, don't stop! Your pics are excellent, and always worth looking at. The 'paparazzi' jibe is (I hope!) just a piece of fun. If anyone doesn't like your photos, they don't have to look at them. That's the beauty of the web: there's room for everyone!

I would also like to echo what fjp451 said. This board would be much diminished without the great characters on here.

mycroftholmes:

No matter how large I make that photo with the green covered book, the only wording I can [barely] make from the title is:

~ Palk Bponicpn ~

... possibly a Russian edition of Ray's work. In his discussion with the fellow in the photo, Ray mentioned something about that he (Ray) did not change something or other in the book. That it was kept the same. Now how nebulous can that be, right? But that's the best I can come up with!

===

ALL: Thanks for feedback on the event-photorazzi. Certainly room to better exercise carefully my method of snapping photos. I may click away a hundred images at any one place. I think that's something along the lines of what Nik Grant was saying. (ALSO: CHECK OUT the vintage 1977 photo of Ray, Nik, myself and others at Nik Grant's home in Los Angeles, NOW added to THIS album)!

Could it be Рэю Брэдбери ? That's Ray Bradbury in Russian!
