Really? I quite liked that one! I thought it was the last really first-rate novel he published (though I have to say, I have not read the recent works like "Farewell Summer" or "Somewhere a Band is Playing"). The two sequels to this book seemed far inferior to the original, in my mind...

octobercountry, I agree. I thought DEATH IS A LONELY BUSINESS was fantastic - it was a revelation to me of the breadth of RB's talents. It has a great ensemble of characters (one of them my user-namesake!), and it's a very cleverly constructed murder-mystery (a happy medium between Agatha Christie & Chandler).
I really didn't care for the two sequels, however - VERY disappointing.

Since I was raised in Santa Monica, Ocean Park, and Venice CA, I lived the atmosphere of Death Is A Lonely Business first hand. I Like Graveyard For Lunatics even better, it has a character after Ray's lifelong friend, Ray Harryhausen, and reflects the times when the studio bosses ran the world. But let's All Kill Constance is a very clever novel with some great plot twists, and continues the atmosphere of the other two. I like the whole lot, a whole lot!

My Favorite Bradbury book is most deffinitely the Martian Chronicles,because it's just so thought provoking & approaches the Red Planet w/ a entirely different point of view ... Cool
