Here is an interesting article about the upcoming release of "War of the Worlds" along with some comments made by Ray. I am a bit puzzled by his final comment, because I know he and Spielberg have always been good friends.

Maybe by "junk," RB just meant explosions, chase scenes, screaming suspense, etc., etc., the usual hypodermic solutions.

The Lake: I agree!

Of the few 'trailers' I have seen of WOTW. it gets a little uneasy to see the familiar scenes one has viewed in previous motion pictures: Bridges overturning and cars and buses come crashing down (too many movies to mention on that one)...or ship over-turning (shades of Titanic)...

I see in no way does this reflect Ray's personal feelings about Spielberg.
