I received an e-mail today from the Ray Bradbury Experience Museum in Waukegan, Illinois. It appears that the Museum is currently planning on being open on August 22, 2020 to celebrate Ray's 100th birthday. The e-mail noted that masks and social distancing by visitors will be required due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and that further information, including how to obtain free timed tickets for admission, will be forthcoming. If and when I receive additional information about this event, I'll try to post it on this forum. Here is a portion of that e-mail:

"Ray Bradbury’s Centennial is August 22, 2020. We believe the best birthday gift to Ray Bradbury is to fulfill his dream to 'Live Forever' through his museum in Waukegan, his hometown.

COVID-19 has delayed RBEM's development in 2020. But we want to share the vision of the future museum with you on Ray Bradbury's 100th birthday.

RBEM’s Centennial Celebration will adhere strictly to COVID-19 guidelines for everyone’s safety. Stay tuned for more information!

Let's Bring Ray Bradbury Home!"

The Ray Bradbury Experience Museum will be offering Ray Bradbury centennial masks, and other cool merchandise, during its open house on August 22, 2020. The Museum indicates that after that date, the souvenir merchandise will be available for purchase via the RBEM website. The Ray Bradbury Experience Museum has created the "I Met Ray" Project, by which it invited people who met Ray Bradbury during his lifetime to film their thoughts and memories. The videos which comprise the Project will be available for viewing at the RBEM on August 22, 2020, and available for viewing on the Museum's website as well. Here is what the Museum said in today's announcement:

"The "I Met Ray" Project
We heard story after story after story. Heartfelt stories. So many, we knew we had to capture them. That's why we're preserving these true stories of ordinary readers and viewers who met or were influenced by the boundless imagination and heart of Ray Bradbury. We created the "I Met Ray" Project. It's ongoing.

Watch this original documentary at RBEM on August 22. Going live on August 22, 2020 at www.raybradburyexperiencemuseum.org"
