Want to see the Mars' Phoenix land, while in the company of Bill Nye the Sciece Guy and Ray Bradbury? Below is the link to this ticketed event, $40 per person.

This is not a signing event but a chance to be a part of history.

The event has sold out. However, wherever you are at 4:53 p.m. Pacific Time on Sunday the 25th. Take a moment, a digital copy of Martian Chronicles will have just landed on the red planet.

Too bad they couldn't have landed two minutes earlier!

How observant of you. They did say that the last trajectory correction was not needed so may be it will land at 4:51 p.m.

For those of you who were not lucky enough to have been at a live event for the Mars Phoenix Rover landing or watched it live I have taken the liberty of posting the first image from the Rover.

OK, on a serious note there were tears of joy, laughter and jubilation in the hall of 800 people at the Pasadena Hilton, a few miles from JPL's mission control.

It was the culmination of a daylong event starting with the showing of JFK’s May 25, 1961 speech…FORTY-SEVEN years ago to the day.

Highlights of the DVD that landed with the craft were shown, which included a digital copy of Martian Chronicles. There was a poignant tribute to Arthur C. Clarke and a reading from Sands of Mars.

One Mr. Ray Douglas Bradbury gave a very inspiring talk. After which, a reading from Martian Chronicles was done by one of the participants.

I left just as Bill Nye the Science Guy was ascending to the podium.

The first real images from Phoenix should start coming in around 6:30 p.m. PST. The previously posted image of Marvin was actually sent to Mars on the rover.

It's probably all an illusion. Those Martians have the power to make us see Mars as anything they want (Ohio, Heaven, etc)...

Moving this up as the digital Martian Chronicles on Mars is just so cool!
